An opportunity for an experienced Education or Further Education recruiter to join a rapidly growing specialist Education and Public Sector recruitment business, offering a £45,000–£70,000 basic salary, uncapped commission up to 25% and genuine choice over how and where you work.
This isn’t a traditional high-street recruitment environment or a rigid corporate structure.
The business has been built around specialist recruitment, long-term relationships and giving experienced recruiters the freedom to operate effectively.
You’ll work across Education and the Public Sector, with particular interest in recruiters who understand Further Education or mainstream Education and are confident recruiting from middle-management through to Executive Search level.
The roles you’ll recruit are predominantly long-term contract and permanent appointments, with candidate salaries typically ranging from around £45,000 to £200,000.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role is aimed at an experienced recruiter who is comfortable operating at a more senior and consultative level.
You’ll develop relationships with senior decision-makers and manage recruitment processes across middle-management, senior leadership and executive appointments.
Depending on your background, you could work within an established Education market or use your existing experience and relationships to further develop a specialist area.
Further Education recruitment experience would be particularly desirable.
However, the business is equally interested in experienced Education recruiters who have the confidence and commercial ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders.
FURTHER EDUCATION & MAINSTREAM EDUCATION
The business has an established presence across Education, including Further Education and mainstream Primary and Secondary recruitment.
For recruiters coming from FE, your existing understanding of colleges, senior stakeholders and specialist education recruitment would be particularly valuable.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
– Further Education recruitment
– College recruitment
– Mainstream Education recruitment
– Primary or Secondary recruitment
– Senior permanent Education recruitment
– Public Sector recruitment
– Executive Search
– Leadership recruitment
You don’t have to already be an Executive Search recruiter.
What’s important is having the experience and confidence to work credibly with senior stakeholders and develop towards increasingly senior appointments.
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT TO EXECUTIVE SEARCH
One of the biggest differences between this opportunity and many traditional Education recruitment roles is the level of appointment you’ll have the opportunity to work on.
Candidate salaries typically range from around £45,000 through to £200,000.
Depending on your market, you could recruit:
– Middle-management professionals
– Heads of Department
– Senior Managers
– Directors
– Principals
– Vice Principals
– Senior Leadership
– Executive appointments
– C-suite professionals
The business also operates a dedicated Executive Search offering for senior and board-level appointments.
This provides an interesting progression route for an experienced Education recruiter who wants to move beyond traditional recruitment and develop their capability within senior appointments and Executive Search.
LONG-TERM CONTRACT & PERMANENT RECRUITMENT
The focus of this particular opportunity is predominantly long-term contract and permanent recruitment.
You’ll be expected to understand your market, develop credible client relationships and manage assignments professionally from initial brief through to successful placement.
This is a consultative recruitment environment where relationships and sector knowledge matter.
FLEXIBLE WORKING – YOU CHOOSE
The working model is genuinely flexible.
Rather than everybody being expected to follow the same office pattern, the business can accommodate different ways of working depending on the individual.
Options include:
– Fully remote working
– Hybrid working
– 1–3 days per week in an office
– Predominantly office-based
– Fully office-based
The choice can be shaped around what works best for you and the business you are developing.
The company has established offices across the UK, including London, Manchester, Leeds and Bristol.
FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS
Flexibility goes beyond simply working from home.
The business understands that experienced people have lives outside recruitment.
If you have childcare arrangements, school runs, appointments or other commitments, there is flexibility to work around them.
Typical working hours can range between:
8:30am – 5:30pm
or
9:00am – 6:00pm
The emphasis is on performance and delivering for clients and candidates rather than creating unnecessary rigidity around where somebody sits or exactly when they start their day.
SALARY & COMMISSION
Basic Salary: £45,000 – £70,000
Commission: Uncapped, with tiers reaching up to 25%
The commission structure is designed to significantly reward high performance.
As your billings reach higher tiers, your commission percentage increases. Once you reach the next qualifying tier, the corresponding commission percentage applies at that level rather than simply rewarding the additional amount above the threshold.
For a strong biller, this creates considerable earning potential on top of a basic salary of up to £70,000.
CAREER PROGRESSION
This is particularly interesting for somebody who feels they’ve reached a ceiling within their current agency.
The business is already established nationally but continues to grow.
Outside its main headquarters, regional operations are earmarked for significant expansion, creating opportunities for experienced recruiters to develop alongside them.
That growth could create future opportunities across:
– Senior billing roles
– Team leadership
– Management
– Regional growth
– New market development
– Executive Search
– Senior leadership
There is also evidence of genuine internal progression within the wider business, rather than progression simply being something discussed at interview.
CULTURE & RETENTION
This isn’t positioned as a traditional high-street recruitment agency or heavily corporate environment.
The business has focused on creating an inclusive culture where people can build successful recruitment careers while maintaining a sensible work/home balance.
Staff retention is exceptionally strong, with people choosing to build long-term careers within the organisation.
For an experienced recruiter, the attraction isn’t simply salary and commission.
It’s the combination of:
– Strong earning potential
– Flexible working
– Work/home life balance
– Career progression
– Autonomy
– Professional development
– An inclusive culture
– Long-term career opportunities
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Even experienced recruiters continue to receive investment and development.
The business provides structured development, mentoring and leadership training alongside funding for accredited courses and professional coaching.
As the regional operations grow, this development becomes particularly relevant for people interested in moving from individual billing into management or leadership.
BENEFITS
Alongside the £45,000–£70,000 basic salary and commission opportunity, the wider benefits package includes:

– Hybrid working
– Office-based working if preferred
