Senior Education Recruitment Consultant South Yorkshire -Hybrid
Senior Education Recruitment Consultant – South Yorkshire
This is an opportunity for an experienced education recruiter to join a well-established teacher supply agency based in South Yorkshire.
The office is made up of an experienced team of around 14 staff and is supported by dedicated HR, compliance and administration teams. This structure allows consultants to focus on running their desks properly, building relationships and generating revenue without getting buried in paperwork.
The agency has built a strong reputation supplying teachers and education support staff to schools across the region. The core business is currently focused on Primary and SEND, where they already have strong relationships with schools and a consistent flow of bookings.
They are now looking to bring in either a strong Primary consultant who can step into an established area and develop it further, or a very experienced Secondary recruiter who would come in to launch and grow a Secondary division.
For the right Secondary consultant this could develop into a Secondary Divisional Manager role, giving you the opportunity to build and lead that side of the business over time.
The office culture is one of the biggest selling points. A number of the consultants who have joined the business previously worked for some of the larger corporate education recruitment agencies. Many of them made the move because they became frustrated with the rigid structures, lack of flexibility and heavy focus on KPIs rather than building genuine relationships with schools and candidates.
This agency has deliberately taken a different approach. Of course they want consultants to build profitable desks, but they place equal importance on quality, professionalism and long-term relationships with schools. They believe that strong, trusted partnerships ultimately create more sustainable desks and better long-term revenue.
Because of that philosophy, expectations when building or growing a desk are realistic. Consultants are given the time and support to establish their markets properly rather than being pushed into short-term activity targets.
The office itself is supportive, collaborative and relaxed. The team works well together, and while everyone is focused on delivering results there is plenty of light-hearted banter during the day. The workforce includes people at different stages of their careers, including several consultants with young families, so the business understands the importance of flexibility around appointments or personal commitments when needed.
You will work closely with an experienced and supportive manager who is hands-on and available when you need guidance, but who also trusts experienced recruiters to run their desks with autonomy.
The role is primarily office based with one day per week working from home.
Working hours are consistent and straightforward:
- Monday to Thursday – 7:30am to 5:00pm
- Friday – 7:30am to 4:00pm
The business has grown steadily through strong service and reputation rather than aggressive expansion. As a result the team environment is stable, with excellent retention and clear opportunities for consultants who want to build a long-term career.
For recruiters who perform well and show leadership potential, there is genuine scope for progression into management roles as the business continues to develop.
The package is competitive and flexible depending on experience. The company is in a position to offer a sizeable increase on your current basic salary, and for the right candidate they can also offer guarantees for up to 12 months to protect your earnings while your desk develops.
Basic salary is between £35,000 and £55,000, with flexibility above this level for exceptional people. There is no threshold on commission, meaning you start earning from your very first placement.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced education recruiter who wants to step away from the corporate environment, join a supportive and well-structured team, and build a profitable desk while focusing on quality relationships with schools and candidates.
Apply now if you are an experienced Primary or Secondary education recruiter looking for a role with more autonomy, stronger earning potential and real long-term progression.
