Senior Recruitment Consultant Manchester | FE Supply | Hybrid
Senior Education Recruitment Consultant – Manchester (Hybrid)
This is a senior opportunity with an established, independently run education recruitment agency based in central Manchester. The focus is Further Education supply across Yorkshire, placing lecturers and education professionals into long-term and permanent roles with colleges, universities, and FE providers.
This is not a corporate environment with layers of management and constant KPI pressure. It’s a well-funded, growing business where experienced recruiters are trusted to run their desks properly. You won’t be micromanaged, and you won’t be treated like a number. Decisions are made quickly, senior leadership is accessible, and performance is rewarded properly.
The desk itself is strong. The agency is already on key PSL agreements across Yorkshire, and the hard work to secure a place on those frameworks has already been done. There is inbound demand and an active candidate pool. In simple terms, there are more live jobs than there are recruiters currently covering them. You’re not walking into a cold start; you’re walking into opportunity.
All supply is predominantly long-term, typically between eight weeks and three months or longer. That gives stability, better forecasting, and stronger, more consistent billing compared to day-to-day churn.
Your role will be to deepen relationships with decision-makers such as Heads of Learning Support and curriculum leads, through regular visits and consistent contact, while continuing to grow coverage across the region.
The agency operates from physical offices in major UK cities and has invested heavily in systems and infrastructure. You’ll be using a brand-new CRM that automates DBS tracking and references, cutting down significantly on admin.
You’ll also have access to all major job boards and an overseas recruitment team to support candidate attraction when needed. The setup is designed to let you focus on billing and relationship building rather than paperwork.
The role is hybrid, with two days per week working from home and three days in the Manchester office.
Office hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm. There are no early starts and no late finishes. Many of the team have families, and the culture reflects that. People are expected to perform, but they’re also treated like adults.
Although this is a Senior Consultant position, there is genuine scope to move into management if that’s something you want. The business has experienced exceptional growth and is planning a move to a larger Manchester office. There is funding behind expansion and clear intent to scale.
The salary is up to £45,000, however negotiable depending on experience, and they are in a position to improve on your current package for the right person.
Commission is uncapped, ranging from 12% to 30%, with 10% paid on permanent placements. For the right candidate, guarantees can be structured to protect initial earnings during transition.
This role will only suit someone who has previously worked in education recruitment, whether that’s Primary, Secondary, Further Education, SEND or support staff.
You need to be comfortable managing relationships face-to-face, running a desk with autonomy, and capitalising on genuine demand in the market.
If you’re an experienced education recruiter who wants to step away from corporate layers, have more control over your desk, and join a business that has more jobs to fill than people currently covering them, this is a strong move.
