This is an opportunity for an experienced education recruitment consultant to join a teacher supply agency based just outside Nottingham city centre.

The business currently covers Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire across Primary and SEND. They are now looking for a strong Secondary consultant to come in and build that side properly.

Basic salary is up to £45,000 plus commission up to 17.5% with no threshold.

Office hours are sensible and consistent. During term time you’ll work 7:30am – 4:30pm. During school holidays hours reduce to 9:00am – 3:00pm.

This isn’t a corporate machine. It’s an independently run agency built by directors who came from large teacher supply firms and deliberately chose to do things differently. There are no unrealistic KPIs, no pointless activity targets, and no layers of management slowing decisions down. If you need something agreed, you walk into the directors’ office and get an answer.

The culture is informal, performance-focused and adult-to-adult. Staff retention is extremely strong. The only people who have left have stepped away from recruitment altogether.

The role itself can be shaped depending on who comes in.

At its core, it’s a 360 Secondary education recruitment position. You will build relationships with secondary schools, develop new business, grow supply and long-term bookings, and manage your own desk properly.

However, there is genuine scope beyond just running a desk.

If you want to simply build and dominate Secondary supply yourself, that’s an option.

If you want to build the Secondary division and recruit consultants underneath you, that’s also an option. There are additional incentives available for team override, and once agreed targets are hit, you can step away from day-to-day billing and focus on developing and managing the division.

Longer term, there is potential for shares or equity. Both directors are still hands-on and running their own desks, but the intention over time is to step back operationally. The right person coming in now could be positioning themselves for something much bigger.

The agency is entering a new growth phase. They’ve performed extremely well and are now actively planning expansion. There is serious investment on the verge of being secured, which will support further growth, hiring and development. You would be part of shaping that next stage — identifying new markets, developing strategy and helping build something substantial.

Operationally, there is a strong compliance team in place which keeps administration under control and allows consultants to focus on revenue.

The office location is easily accessible for candidate registrations and includes free parking.

This role will suit an experienced education recruiter who wants autonomy, influence and upside — not just another sideways move.

Because the business is growing and flexible, they are open to discussing all aspects of the package, including salary, structure and long-term incentives, for the right person.
