Education Recruitment Manager – Hull – £60,000 basic

This position is for an Education Recruitment Manager to join a successful and established Teacher Recruitment agency based in Hull, Humberside.

You will be working in a friendly team that supplies Teachers and Support Staff to schools covering SEND, Secondary, or Primary.

This is a manager’s role and is open to current managers or current senior consultants / Team leaders looking for their next step up in their career

The role is open to people from other recruitment sectors, as long as they’re from a fast-paced environment, as most of the supply revolves around the day to day supply of teachers and support staff to schools

The salary is up to £60,000 basic with commission (up to 25%). Guarantees can also be put in place to cover lost commission from your current role. Milestones and targets will also be discussed to increase your earning potential further

This is an office-based role. There are shorter hours during the school holidays and staggered hours during term time; there is flexibility for early and later starts and finishes.

As a specialist Teacher supply agency, you will have an efficient compliance and resourcing team, teachers are carefully processed and compliant very quickly, saving you administrative activities.

Building relationships with schools, MATS, Trusts, Pupil referral units (PRU’s) and clusters is a key element of your role. You will, on occasion, attend client visits with your consultants to help bond and foster trusting partnerships with your clients.

The ideal person for this role must have a personable persona, have a management style that is supportive, constructive, and show strong leadership.

You will be trusted to run your branch your way, there will be no unnecessary micro management or call targets that are out of touch with the day-to-day requirements of your branch, if you have bookings to fill that is your priority as opposed to making more sales calls and having a back log of bookings that need filling.

There is a shortage of teachers in the UK, meaning candidate management and attraction have never been more critical in the teachers supply sector.

As the market is so candidate-led, your branch must have a fantastic candidate management approach. You will have many resources at your disposal to keep your candidates in work placements. There is flexibility to offer guaranteed pay to your teachers to ensure they stay with your agency. There is a company resource team that attracts local and international teachers

Although the branch is doing relatively well, there is still room for improvement and plenty of market share to win. This role requires somebody who has creative ideas, can excite and motivate their staff, and somebody who is confident enough to ask for help when needed.

Your regional manager is on hand to support you and your team. They will work with you on your ideas, company targets, and goals, and how your branch can meet expectations

The targets you have will be realistic and individual to you and your branch. With your input, you will design your targets with your regional manager; in reality, you are the best person to know what areas you need support, what specific challenges there are in your area, and what you can do to compete with your competitors.

Although bottom-line profits are ultimately the end goal, growing your team and business organically and professionally is a precursor to that. If you consistently do things properly, serve your schools and candidates with respect and professionalism, success will follow.

Small successes are celebrated equally as the usual monthly top billers; this approach highlights the hard work done behind the teacher’s days on the board.

It’s always important to provide feedback to your consultants with regular 121’s, these meetings should be a positive experience, providing clarity and structure.
