Recruitment Account Manager – Warrington
Are you highly organised, great with people and able to keep your head when several things need doing at once?
I’m recruiting an Account Manager for an established education recruitment business in Warrington. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role managing the successful delivery of temporary staffing bookings across a portfolio of schools.
Importantly, previous recruitment experience isn’t required. The hiring manager is genuinely happy to train the right person and is much more interested in finding someone with strong organisation, communication and relationship-management skills.
There is no business development or sales involved.
The role
School staffing requirements are received through the company’s central (MSP) Managed Service Provision hub before being allocated to the relevant branch. Once a booking reaches the Warrington team, they can have as little as 10 minutes to fill it.
Your job is to make that happen.
You’ll manage an active pipeline of fully cleared candidates and need to know your workforce inside out – who is available, where they can travel, what work they’re suitable for and, crucially, who you can rely upon when an urgent booking comes through.
You’ll be speaking to candidates regularly, building strong relationships and keeping completely on top of their availability so that when a booking lands, you already know who you’re going to call.
You’ll also work closely with the branch Resourcer, who identifies new candidates and gets them cleared and ready for work before passing them across to you.
It’s a role that requires you to think quickly, prioritise constantly and stay exceptionally organised. On a busy morning, several bookings could be moving at once, so you’ll need to be comfortable multitasking and acting fast without losing attention to detail.
Who could suit this role?
You don’t need to come from recruitment.
The hiring manager is open to different backgrounds and will provide full training. Your transferable skills are far more important than your current job title.
You might currently work within:
- Account management
- Administration or office coordination
- Scheduling or workforce coordination
- Operations
- Customer service
- Resource or people coordination
- Recruitment or resourcing
You could also come from another busy commercial environment where you’re used to managing people, information and changing priorities.
You’ll need to be:
- Exceptionally organised
- A confident verbal and written communicator
- Great at building relationships
- Comfortable speaking on the telephone
- Able to multitask and prioritise
- Quick-thinking and decisive
- Detail-focused
- Comfortable working at pace
- Proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs doing
Opportunity to increase your earnings
Although candidates will be provided to you by the branch Resourcer, you’ll also have the opportunity to resource your own candidates if you want to.
You’ll learn how to identify and screen candidates, take them through the necessary compliance and clearance process and build your own additional pipeline of people ready for work.
For each candidate you personally resource, you’ll receive an additional £30–£50 once they have completed three days of work.
You’ll also earn Account Manager commission of up to 6% of gross profit.
Interested in a career in recruitment?
This could also be an excellent opportunity for someone who has considered a career in recruitment but hasn’t previously been able to get their foot in the door.
Many entry-level recruitment positions require previous sales or recruitment experience. This one doesn’t.
You’ll receive full training while gaining hands-on experience of candidate sourcing, screening, compliance, candidate management, relationship building, filling bookings and the commercial fundamentals of operating a recruitment desk.
It provides an excellent grounding in recruitment and could be a strong stepping stone into a wider recruitment career in the future.
