EDUCATION RECRUITMENT MANAGER – SECONDARY & MSP – NOTTINGHAM
Fox Search is working with an established education recruitment business in Nottingham to recruit an experienced Education Recruitment Manager to take responsibility for its Secondary and MSP operation.
This is a genuinely strong management opportunity because you won’t be walking into a desk that needs rebuilding from scratch.
You’ll inherit an established team, existing client relationships and a Secondary desk currently generating around 150 supply days per week.
The current team includes an experienced Secondary Recruitment Consultant, two MSP Account Managers and an established Resourcer.
Alongside managing the existing operation, you’ll play an important role in the continued development of MSP and GCA business through the Nottingham branch, with the longer-term potential to take responsibility for the wider branch.
The Opportunity
Initially, you’ll take responsibility for the Secondary recruitment team and associated MSP activity.
The existing structure includes:
- An experienced Secondary Recruitment Consultant generating approximately 150 supply days per week
- Two Account Managers focused on MSP delivery
- An established Resourcer
- Existing school and client relationships
- Significant potential for further growth
This is not a role where you’ll spend your first six months replacing a team or trying to revive a struggling desk.
Instead, you’ll be expected to provide strong commercial leadership, support experienced recruiters, identify areas for further growth and help maximise the opportunities already coming into the Nottingham operation.
Secondary Education Recruitment
The Secondary desk already has substantial existing business.
You’ll work closely with the established consultant, supporting the continued development of existing school relationships while identifying opportunities to increase supply volumes, revenue and client penetration.
The business is looking for someone commercially astute who can understand the numbers, identify opportunity and help experienced recruiters perform at their best without unnecessary micromanagement.
MSP Growth
A key part of this role will be the continued development of the agency’s Managed Service Provider activity.
The Nottingham branch is expected to play an increasingly important role in the delivery of MSP business, with greater volumes being managed locally as the operation develops.
You’ll work closely with the two existing MSP Account Managers and become a senior point of contact within the branch for this part of the business.
You’ll help ensure client requirements are managed effectively, service levels remain high and the team is commercially positioned to benefit from increasing volumes.
GCA & Framework Business
You’ll also become an important senior contact within the Nottingham operation for GCA and framework-related activity.
As this business develops, you’ll help ensure the branch maximises the commercial opportunities created through large-account and framework relationships.
Experience of MSP, master vendor, framework or GCA recruitment models would therefore be particularly useful.
Team Leadership
The existing team combines recruitment, account management and resourcing.
You’ll provide clear commercial leadership while allowing experienced team members the autonomy to do their jobs effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the Secondary recruitment function
- Supporting an established high-performing consultant
- Managing and developing two MSP Account Managers
- Working closely with the Resourcer
- Monitoring desk performance and supply volumes
- Supporting client development
- Identifying opportunities within existing accounts
- Improving communication between recruitment and MSP functions
- Developing new school and trust relationships
- Supporting GCA and framework delivery
- Maintaining strong service levels across key accounts
- Developing the team as the branch grows
Progression
There is a clear longer-term opportunity attached to the position.
Initially, your focus will be Secondary recruitment and MSP activity.
As the Nottingham operation develops, there is potential for the successful person to take responsibility for the wider branch, including the Primary recruitment operation.
For someone looking to move beyond traditional team management, this offers a genuine route into wider Branch Management and senior leadership.
Who Would This Suit?
This opportunity could suit an experienced:
- Education Recruitment Manager
- Billing Manager
- Team Manager
- Secondary Recruitment Manager
- Education Recruitment Branch Manager
- MSP Recruitment Manager
- Senior Education Recruitment Consultant ready to step into management
You’ll need strong education recruitment experience and a good understanding of the commercial realities of teacher supply.
Previous people-management experience would be advantageous, although an exceptional senior recruiter with the right leadership qualities could also be considered.
Experience of MSP, master vendor, framework or large education accounts would be particularly relevant.
What They’re Looking For
The successful person is likely to:
- Have substantial education recruitment experience
- Understand temporary teacher supply
- Be commercially strong
- Be comfortable supporting experienced recruiters
- Understand recruitment KPIs and desk performance
- Know how to develop existing school relationships
- Be confident managing large accounts
- Have strong stakeholder-management skills
- Understand MSP, framework or master-vendor recruitment models
- Be capable of identifying additional revenue opportunities
- Want progression beyond a standard team-management role
Salary & Package
Basic salary up to £60,000
The final package will depend on experience and the level at which the successful person joins.
What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the combination of a strong basic salary, an established team, significant existing business and genuine potential for further progression.
Why Consider This Role?
You’ll inherit an established platform rather than being asked to start from zero.
That includes:
- An established Secondary desk
- Approximately 150 supply days per week
- An experienced Secondary Consultant
- Two MSP Account Managers
- Existing resourcing support
- Established client relationships
Alongside that, you’ll have exposure to:
- Increasing MSP activity
- Growing GCA and framework opportunities
- Wider commercial responsibility within Nottingham
- Potential progression into management of the wider branch
- A basic salary of up to £60,000
For an experienced education recruitment professional looking for greater responsibility without sacrificing an established billing platform, this is a very strong opportunity.
