Secondary Education Recruitment Business Development Consultant
Pure Business Development | Up to £45,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission | Nottingham
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Secondary Education Recruitment Consultant looking to concentrate on business development rather than managing the day-to-day running of client accounts.
Based just outside Nottingham city centre, the role offers a basic salary of up to £45,000, together with an uncapped commission structure paying 10%–15%.
Your focus will be on developing new relationships with Secondary schools, Multi Academy Trusts, independent schools and other education providers. You’ll spend much of your week out in the field meeting decision-makers, identifying recruitment opportunities, developing long-term partnerships and helping grow one of the region’s most successful education recruitment businesses.
Supported by dedicated Account Managers, Compliance Specialists and Talent Acquisition Consultants, you’ll be free to focus on what you do best—winning new business and generating revenue.
About the Company
GCA framework agency
Our client is an established teacher supply agency with an excellent reputation across the education sector.
The business supplies Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Cover Supervisors, Learning Support Assistants and SEND professionals to schools throughout the region and continues to enjoy consistent year-on-year growth.
Rather than expecting consultants to complete every aspect of a traditional 360 recruitment desk, the business has invested in specialist support teams. Dedicated professionals manage candidate attraction, compliance and account servicing, allowing consultants to specialise and become exceptionally successful in their chosen area.
The office is based just outside Nottingham city centre and offers an excellent working environment with experienced colleagues, strong leadership and genuine opportunities for career progression.
The Opportunity
This is not a typical education recruitment role.
Instead of spending your time managing bookings, completing compliance paperwork or servicing existing accounts, your primary responsibility will be winning new business.
You will become the face of the business across the Secondary education market, developing relationships with schools, Multi Academy Trusts and education leaders throughout the region.
You’ll spend much of your working week away from the office meeting Headteachers, School Business Managers, HR leaders and Trust executives to understand their recruitment challenges and demonstrate how the agency can support them.
Once you have successfully developed the relationship and secured the business, the client account will transfer to a dedicated Account Management team, allowing you to move on and develop further opportunities.
This creates an environment where ambitious business developers can maximise their strengths and significantly increase their earning potential.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing new business across Secondary schools and Multi Academy Trusts.
- Visiting schools and academy trusts to build long-term commercial relationships.
- Meeting Headteachers, Business Managers, HR professionals and Trust leaders.
- Identifying opportunities to join Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs).
- Supporting framework applications and tender submissions.
- Negotiating recruitment agreements with new education clients.
- Working alongside senior management to identify future growth opportunities.
- Collaborating with the managers responsible for the Primary, Secondary and SEND divisions.
- Representing the business at networking events and education meetings.
- Building a consistent pipeline of future clients and commercial opportunities.
Working Alongside Senior Management
One of the biggest attractions of this role is the opportunity to work closely with the agency’s leadership team.
You won’t simply be expected to make sales calls.
You’ll contribute towards the wider commercial strategy of the business by helping identify new markets, reviewing framework opportunities, discussing tender submissions and supporting long-term growth plans.
Working alongside the managers responsible for the Primary, Secondary and SEND divisions also creates opportunities to develop relationships that benefit the wider business.
For example, a conversation you begin with a Secondary school may create opportunities for Primary or SEND recruitment, allowing the agency to provide a broader recruitment solution.
This collaborative approach benefits both the client and your earning potential.
Dedicated Support Teams
Unlike many education recruitment agencies, this business allows consultants to focus on their strengths.
Account Management
Once you’ve secured a new client and established the relationship, experienced Account Managers take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the account, including bookings and client servicing.
Talent Acquisition
A dedicated Talent Acquisition team focuses on attracting Teachers, Teaching Assistants and education support professionals, ensuring you always have access to quality candidates.
Compliance
An experienced Compliance team manages safeguarding checks, references and candidate clearances, giving schools complete confidence while allowing you to remain focused on commercial development.

This opportunity allows you to specialise.

Supported by experienced colleagues and dedicated operational teams, you’ll be able to focus on what delivers the greatest value both for your clients and your own career.
