Our client is a successful, rapidly expanding education recruitment business with an excellent reputation across the UK for supplying daily supply, long-term contract and permanent staff to schools.

They are now looking for a Senior SEND Recruitment Consultant to take over a warm, high-potential SEND desk covering the Reading area and wider Berkshire market.

This is a genuine opportunity to inherit an active desk with existing client relationships, strong candidate flow and immediate billing potential. The role focuses on SEND schools, specialist provisions and mainstream schools requiring SEN support staff, including SEND Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and specialist education professionals.

If you are an experienced recruiter looking for more autonomy, stronger earning potential and the chance to build something substantial within a respected education recruitment business, this role offers exactly that.

The Opportunity

You will have the autonomy to run your desk like your own business while benefiting from the support, tools and reputation of an established education recruitment company.

You will focus on managing and growing a warm SEND desk, developing long-term partnerships with schools and placing high-quality SEND professionals into short-term, long-term and permanent roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established SEND recruitment desk
  • Build relationships with schools, SEND provisions and multi-academy trusts
  • Source, interview and place SEND Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants
  • Manage daily supply, long-term and permanent recruitment requirements
  • Develop existing client relationships while identifying new opportunities
  • Deliver a quality-led recruitment service focused on long-term partnerships
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Mentor junior consultants where appropriate

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven recruitment experience, ideally within education, SEND, healthcare, social care or another fast-paced 360 recruitment sector
  • Strong business development and account management skills
  • Commercial mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to build credibility with school leaders, candidates and internal teams
  • Confident, resilient and ambitious personality
  • Experience managing a busy recruitment desk
  • Genuine interest in the education sector and SEND provision

SEND recruitment experience would be advantageous, although recruiters from other sectors looking to transition into education will also be considered.

Why Join?

  • Warm / hot SEND desk with existing relationships and immediate potential
  • Rapidly expanding, successful education recruitment business
  • Excellent UK reputation within the education sector
  • Quality-led approach focused on long-term relationships rather than volume-driven recruitment
  • Low staff turnover and a supportive, stable team environment
  • Excellent tools, systems and internal support
  • Competitive basic salary
  • One of the strongest commission schemes in the education recruitment sector
  • Merit-based progression with genuine opportunities to move into leadership
  • 27 days’ holiday rising to 32 days, plus bank holidays
  • Performance incentives and clear opportunities to increase earnings over time

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced recruiter who wants to step into a live market, increase their billings and progress within a respected education recruitment business.
