Sales Team Manager Education Recruitment London
Sales Team Manager – Education Recruitment
This opportunity is for an experienced education recruiter looking to step into a Sales Team Manager position within a well-established teacher supply agency that operates very differently to the large corporate firms in the sector.
The business invests heavily in its people. Recruiters receive the tools, support and autonomy needed to perform without being buried under unnecessary KPIs or layers of management. Performance is measured on output, relationships and consistency, not activity for the sake of it.
Many of the team joined from larger corporate agencies after becoming frustrated with rigid structures, lack of flexibility and constant KPI pressure. Here, the focus is different. The business still expects strong billings, but never at the expense of service, reputation or long-term relationships.
Strong partnerships sit at the core of how the agency operates. Schools and candidates are treated properly, which has driven consistent growth and created an exceptionally high staff retention rate. People join and stay because the environment works.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role combining billing and team development.
You will run your own desk while supporting and developing a small team of consultants. Leading from the front, you will drive your own revenue while helping others improve performance, build confidence and grow their desks.
You will work closely with the Director and senior leadership team, contributing to strategy, sales campaigns and overall business direction. As part of the senior management team, you will play a direct role in shaping decisions. Ideas are encouraged, openly discussed and challenged where needed.
The desk focuses on Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, two areas with clear untapped potential. While the agency already operates in surrounding regions, this role is about establishing a stronger presence and building consistent revenue in these locations.
Work has already started in these areas. Candidate attraction is underway and the database continues to grow with schools and key contacts. You will not be starting from scratch, but there is significant scope to develop and shape these regions properly.
Your role will involve placing teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff and support professionals into schools, maintaining strong relationships and delivering a consistently high level of service.
Alongside billing, you will mentor consultants across the team, helping them improve how they manage clients, candidates and their desks. This suits someone who still enjoys billing but wants to step into a broader leadership position.
Support & Infrastructure
The structure around you allows you to focus on billing.
- Dedicated resourcing team
- Dedicated compliance team
- Full admin support
Because of this, you can concentrate on relationships, placements and revenue rather than back-office tasks. Communication across the business is direct, and decisions are made quickly without layers of approval.
Culture & Environment
The culture is one of the biggest reasons people join and stay.
The office environment is relaxed but performance-driven. People work hard, but there is a strong team feel and a good mix of personalities and backgrounds.
The business promotes a culturally aware and inclusive environment where individuals feel valued and supported. Flexibility is built in, allowing people to manage both work and personal commitments when needed.
No micromanagement exists here. Consultants are trusted to run their desks properly.
Working Pattern
- Hybrid working – 2 days from home, 3 days in the office
- Flexible approach where required
- Free parking on-site
Salary & Earnings
The basic salary is negotiable up to £65,000 – £70,000 depending on experience and track record.
A strong commission structure sits on top, offering genuine earning potential. High performers are rewarded properly, and the structure supports consistent earnings without unnecessary barriers.
Progression & Opportunity
This role offers clear long-term progression.
The business continues to grow and invest, creating real opportunities to move further into management, build teams and take on more responsibility over time.
Training & Development
Development starts from day one.
You will follow a structured onboarding plan supported by senior leadership. Ongoing training is continuous and includes internal coaching as well as external courses through the REC.
