National Tuition Programme – Account Manager – Nationwide
The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) is an ambitious scheme intended to provide additional, targeted support for those children and young people in schools who have been most affected by disruption to their education as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
During the first year of the programme introduced in November of the 2020 to 2021 academic year, state-maintained primary and secondary schools in England were able to access high-quality subsidised tutoring provision for 5 to 16-year-olds using 2 routes, tuition partners and academic mentors.
The second year covers the 2021 to 2022 academic year and builds on the first phase. Based on feedback from schools, we have expanded the NTP for the second year of the programme, offering state-funded schools and academy trusts 3 routes to tutoring:
- Tuition partners
- Academic mentors
- School-led tutoring
Schools have access to funding via a special scheme and from the funding, they will be able to hire tutors through the agency at a drastically reduced rate. As the money comes from the funding it is at no additional cost to the school.
Your job will be to “educate” schools about the funding available to them, explain how the agency will provide the candidates to the schools and help them organise timetables for student tuition.
Students can have tuition during school time, after school on weekends and it will take place on the school premises, an agreed location or within the student’s home.
The tutors do not need to be qualified teachers they can be teaching assistants, HLTA’s, cover supervisors, or anybody that has done tutoring before. The subjects covered are the core subjects English, Maths and Science. The tutors do however have to have a relevant qualification in their subject
The agency has a programme in place which simplifies the whole process.
To get the message out to school you will mainly send targeted emails, occasionally make phones calls and where possible visit schools. Due to covid restrictions, video calling through apps such as “Teams” generally will replace the school visits.
In order to offer this service agencies, need to be approved. This is a nationwide project so schools anywhere in the UK can be approached.
The successful applicant will be covering the North of the UK contacting Primary, Secondary and SEND schools.
