As a recruiter supplying teachers to schools, it’s important to build strong relationships with the teachers you supply and the clients, you work with. You will advertise for teachers through job boards, word of mouth, and social media. All teachers will need to be compliant before sending them on assignments, this side of the process with be completed by the compliance team, it’s always a good idea to check the reference yourself as this will give you a better understanding of the “person” behind the teacher and help you better match them to your schools. Checking references also gives you an opportunity to ask if they use agencies, who the person is that deals with agency supply, and what current needs they may have at the time.

Education recruitment has some great advantages, it’s very candidate-led so if you have good teachers schools will listen. The role is consultative as schools will have immediate and future needs teachers will need to have the right experience and just as importantly the right attitude and temperament for each individual school. During the remaining 13 weeks in the year, the schools are closed you will work reduced hours usually 9 -3  or a variant of.  This more relaxed time is a chance to prepare for the next term and build your teacher base again.
