Secondary Education Recruitment Consultant – Manchester
This position is for an experienced Education Recruitment Consultant, working for an established and successful Teacher Recruitment agency based in Manchester city center.
The role will require an experienced recruiter to join the secondary team of a teacher supply
This will be working for one of the leading teacher supply agencies in Manchester. They have built a name on supplying quality teachers to school whilst also providing an excellent service.
As a recruiter supplying teachers to schools, it’s important to build strong relationships with the teachers you supply and the clients, you work with. You will advertise for teachers through job boards, word of mouth, and social media. You will then Interview the teachers you have sourced initially over the phone and if that goes well invite them into the office for a face-to-face where you can go over their work history and qualifications.
All teachers will need to be compliant before sending them on assignments, this side of the process with be completed by the compliance team, it’s always a good idea to check the reference yourself as this will give you a better understanding of the “person” behind the teacher and help you better match them to your schools. Checking references also gives you an opportunity to ask if they use agencies, who the person is that deals with agency supply, and what current needs they may have at the time.
Education recruitment has some great advantages, it’s very candidate-led so if you have good teachers schools will listen. The role is consultative as schools will have immediate and future needs teachers will need to have the right experience and just as importantly the right attitude and temperament for each individual school. Some schools can have very challenging environments so it is very important to put in a teacher that has worked in a similar situation in the past.
Due to the nature of education recruitment, you will be very busy during term time, you have a window of 39 weeks in which you can supply teachers to schools. During the remaining 13 weeks in the year, the schools are closed you will work reduced hours usually 9 -3 or a variant of. This more relaxed time is a chance to prepare for the next term and build your teacher base again.
The position has come about due to internal growth and expansions, due to acting quickly with COVID – 19 they have gained more market share from their competitors and now require additional staff. Large desks are being split so you will have a warm desk to work on.
You will have access to excellent marketing material, social media subscription, and all the major job boards along with an efficient admin and compliance team.
In terms of career development this agency likes to promote from within, many of the Managers and Senior people within the business started as Consultants and gained promotion, various career paths will be open to you.

If you don’t have any education recruitment experience you will be put on a training program working closely with the manager on a warm desk, you will get to learn the processes, and be given plenty of time to learn the unique education recruitment sector.
