HR Manager – Birmingham

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000

Location: Birmingham

A fantastic opportunity has come up for an HR Manager to join a growing and supportive business. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their HR career in a company that values its staff, promotes diversity, and offers long-term stability.

You’ll oversee HR operations across the organisation, with a focus on compliance, safeguarding, and employee engagement. This is a varied role where you’ll be trusted to make a difference and play a key part in shaping the people function.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and safer recruitment checks.
  • Keep HR records, contracts, and employee data accurate and compliant with GDPR.
  • Provide advice to managers on HR and employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance.
  • Act as the escalation point for HR and safeguarding concerns.
  • Keep policies, procedures, and employee handbooks up to date.
  • Support wellbeing, staff engagement, training, and development initiatives.
  • Review and improve HR processes to support business growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as an HR Manager or HR Advisor ready to step up.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance, and safeguarding standards.
  • Ability to manage sensitive HR issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience using HR systems and handling confidential data.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards it is desirable but not essential.
